With the semester break scattering the rest of the club across Europe, only Kimo made it out for this one — joined by a student interested in the club, who got to experience his first contest and see how the whole thing is actually run. Calling "CQ CQ DL0TUM/p Fieldday" from Luitpoldpark, right in the center of Munich, they were the only station operating from there that day.
Luitpoldpark, being quite full of trees, isn't the ideal location for a portable setup — between the tree cover and being surrounded by a crowded city, conditions were a step down from the open spaces we usually operate from. A local ham operator also dropped by for a chat during a quiet stretch.
25 contacts and 12 multipliers logged over the afternoon. Final score and our placement in the QRP portable category are still pending official results.
